first day of school

alexis had her first day of school! we were up bright and early to get ready for the big day and she was so excited. when it was time for mommy, daddy and sister to leave she gave us all hugs and kisses and said "ok bye guys see ya later." then went off to go color with new friends. yes i cried....show me a mother who doesnt cry on the first day of school!!!! taylor even cried a little bit too. when it was time to pick her up she got mad cuz she wanted to stay longer. she has already brought home lots of "school work" and is looking forward to lots more. we now have a designated school wall where all her work gets hung up when she brings it home. cant wait to see what new things she learns this year!!!

the final countdown

it has started.....the final countdown till Alexis is in school. ive known that this day was coming for a long time, but it feel like it just sneaked up on me. this friday she has a meet-n-greet day, she gets to meet the other students in her class and the teachers are going to greet her and she gets to pick out her cubbie to use for the year. then on tuesday the 18th is her official first day of school. everyday she asks if she gets to go to school tomorrow so we started marking off days on the calender so she can atually see how many more days are left. poor little taylor keeps asking when she gets to go to school too, but when we tell her she has to wait she doenst like that answer. i cant wait for her to bring home stuff she did at school. im so nervous for her but i know shes super excited.

where did july go?

where to start......alexis turned 4!! on her actual birthday we went to chuck e cheese and she played lots of games and earned lots of tickets. then she had her gymnastics party a couple days later and that was lots of fun. all her friends were there and she got lots of good presents. she loved her tinkerbell cake but taylor put her fingers in it.


stephen has still been busy with work while me and the girls are still running around being crazy. last weekend we went to stephens family reunion at lake almanor which was nice cuz it was only 84 degrees there. i got to snuggle with my new nephew..... joaquin..... and the girls got to swim in the lake and we all ate lots of yummy food all day. august is just around the corner so that means school will be starting soon. alexis has a meet-n-greet day august 14th and then august 18th is her first official day of school....YIKES!!! she is super excited about that. i bought alexis her first pair of shoes for school, a pair of black mary janes (cuz they cant wear open toe shoes), and she keeps telling everyone about them. it seems like the months keep flying by and i dont know where they are going. but one thing i do know........i am so over the heat and im ready for it to be over, but i feel like summer has just begun!!

since i havent blogged in a while i thought it would be time for an update. lets see june was very busy. the girls took swim classes. taylor loved the water and was all over the place which surprised me, but she wanted to play more than learn to swim which didnt surprise me. alexis jumped off the diving board 2 days in a row, but when her head went under the water she said they let her drown and wouldnt do it again. however she now holds her breath and goes under the water so thats great!! we went to the fair and the girls rode every ride 2 times. taylor won 4 goldfish and alexis won 2 goldfish all by themselves and they lasted a week. we had corn dogs and ice cream and had lots of fun. we have been trying to go out and do more stuff together since stephen only get a couple days off a month now and that because stephen is back to work at the fire hall, but he loves being back. he's hoping he gets some action from a good fire this year like he did last year. im hoping it far away from here and its just an open field with nothing but grass to burn. im still busy with cakes and chasing after the girls. however i did find the time to read the twilight series 2 times!!! i can officially say im addicted to the series. its just a good story!! im also an auntie again. my brother and sister-in-law welcomed baby #3 the begining of the month...little louie jaquin. hes really cute and reminds of alexis when she was a baby. really little with long scrawny legs. we are getting ready for lexi's 4th birthday and then in august she starts school, i cant believe it. so goodbye june and hello july!!!

my awsome idea

my most awsome idea ever.......buy the old kfc in anderson by the freeway onramp and turn it into the most awesome bakery slash drive thru. you can come through and get cupcakes with milk or place an order for a cake.....how awesome would that be!!! make the inside super cute and to make it even better im gonna steal the idea from mr. pickles and get a dancing cupcake out front.

fishing

wednesday was a great day!! we got up really early packed the truck with fishing supplies stuffed an ice chest with picnic stuff and set off for some family time. the girls were so excited and could not get out of the truck fast enough when we got there. they each had their own princess fishing poles ready to go with hook and bait and were itching to cast them out into the water. alexis was doing awesome and was really throwing her line way out there. taylor was really happy because it was her first time time to actually fish. she has always been to small but not this time. she didnt get it out there as good as alexis but she tried so hard. after a while they lost interest but had fun playing in the dirt and picking flowers. they got to see a little otter swimming around and it went right in front of us, and they also saw a momma duck with 6 little ducklings. one little duck even swam near us and came up onto the shore for a quick minute. i had the first catch of the day but it was just a little guy so we had to throw him back but stephen got 2. it was so much fun to get out of town for a day and spend some time with stephen and my little girls.

adventures of a 2 year old

taylor has always been a little more daring than alexis is. she climbs and hangs on everything and has almost no fear. im always finding her on the counter or climbing up bookcases. i think its her red hair!!! so today i came into the room and found her sitting on the floor with a chair. when i asked her what she was doing she just looked at me and calmly said "mom im stuck." i tried a couple of times to pull and twist the chair but everytime she said it hurt her ears. i slathered her face and ears and the chair with butter and oil but still she would not come out. alexis was such a good sister too. she sat next to taylor and held her hand and told her "dont worry sister mommy will unstick you." after a couple minutes of thinking and lots of giggling (i know thats not nice but i couldnt help it) i tried to move her from the living room to the kitchen, and when she stood up the chair just slipped down her body. why i didnt think of that first i dont know. im just glad i didnt have to cut the chair to get it off her neck or cut her neck to get back that chair (just kidding!!)
